VEdTS Refund and Cancellation Policy
Veterans Elite Drone Training Services (VEdTS) understands that circumstances can change. This policy outlines when refunds, cancellations, transfers, and deferrals may be available for our training programs.
1. Cancellation Before Course Access or Equipment Shipment
If you cancel your registration before you have been provided access to the online training program and before any drone or other equipment has been shipped, you may request a full refund, less any non-refundable payment processing or administrative fees already incurred which are as follows:
-
$500.00 processing and administrative fees for the Advanced Drone Training course
-
$1000.00 processing and administrative fees for the Canadian Industrial Applications Training Program
2. Online Training Access
Once access to the online training program has been provided, and the student validates their login coupon, the online training component is considered to have commenced and the portion of the course fee relating to online training is non-refundable ($95 for the Basic Drone Training, $400 for the Advanced Drone Training, and $10,000 for the Canadian Industrial Applications Program), regardless of whether the student has logged in a second time, started, or completed the course material. This is in addition to the above processing and administrative fees for course cancellation.
3. Drone and Equipment
Where a course package includes a drone, equipment, accessories, or other physical products:
-
Once an item has been shipped, the associated equipment portion of the course fee is generally non-refundable.
-
Equipment that has not yet been shipped may be refundable, provided VEdTS has not already incurred a non-refundable cost in purchasing or preparing the equipment for the student.
-
Any approved return of equipment must be authorized by VEdTS in advance and may be subject to shipping, restocking, or other costs.
-
Equipment that has been opened, activated, registered, damaged, or used is not eligible for return or refund.
Any manufacturer warranty applicable to the equipment remains subject to the manufacturer's warranty terms.
4. In-Person Practical Training
If you are unable to attend your scheduled in-person practical training, please contact VEdTS as soon as possible.
Where reasonable, VEdTS will first attempt to transfer your registration to another available practical training date or location rather than cancel your enrolment.
If you cancel:
-
More than 30 days before the scheduled practical training start date, any refundable portion of the practical training fee may be refunded or transferred to another course date.
-
Between 14 and 30 days before the scheduled start date, VEdTS may retain costs already committed in relation to your attendance.
-
Less than 14 days before the scheduled start date, the practical training component is generally non-refundable, although VEdTS may permit a transfer to a future course at its discretion.
Students who do not attend their scheduled practical training without providing notice are not entitled to a refund.
5. Transfers and Deferrals
We understand that work, military, family, travel, or other circumstances may affect a student's ability to attend their scheduled training.
Where possible, VEdTS may allow a student to transfer or defer their in-person training to another available course date or location.
Transfers are subject to availability and may result in additional charges where the cost of delivering the alternative training has changed.
6. Courses Funded by Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC)
Students receiving or applying for Veterans Affairs Canada funding remain responsible for understanding the terms of their individual VAC funding approval.
A cancellation, withdrawal, transfer, or refund may affect the student's funding eligibility or may require funds to be returned to VAC.
Where a refund relates to an amount funded directly or indirectly by VAC, VEdTS and/or the applicable training provider may process the refund in accordance with VAC requirements and the original method or source of payment.
Students should notify both VEdTS and VAC promptly if they withdraw from or make a significant change to their training program.
7. Cancellation or Rescheduling by VEdTS
Practical training dates and locations may occasionally need to change due to circumstances such as instructor availability, weather, operational requirements, insufficient enrolment, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
If VEdTS cancels a practical training session, students will normally be offered:
-
transfer to another available date or location; or
-
a refund of any applicable training component that has not yet been delivered.
VEdTS is not responsible for reimbursement of independently booked travel, accommodation, meals, lost income, or other incidental costs arising from a course cancellation or schedule change. Students are encouraged to make flexible or refundable travel arrangements where possible.
8. Refund Processing
Approved refunds will normally be returned using the original payment method where practicable.
Any processing fees, bank charges, credit card fees, shipping costs, or other third-party charges that are not recoverable by VEdTS may be deducted from the refund where permitted by law.
9. Exceptional Circumstances
VEdTS may consider exceptions to this policy where serious or unforeseen circumstances prevent a student from continuing their training.
Any exception is considered on a case-by-case basis and does not create an obligation to provide the same exception in future circumstances.
10. How to Request a Cancellation, Transfer or Refund
Requests should be submitted to admin@vedts.ca and should include the student's name, course, scheduled training date and the reason for the request.
Refund eligibility will be determined based on the date the written request is received and the stage of the student's training and equipment fulfillment.
This policy does not limit any rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded under applicable Canadian consumer protection legislation.
